Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I), Community Project Funding, and Appropriations Programmatic and Language Requests

There are currently three types of requests that you can submit to my office, listed in the order they appear on this web page:

TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE (T&I) MEMBER DESIGNATED PROJECT REQUESTS

Please read the eligibility criteria and selection guidance carefully before submitting a request. Submission of your request does not create a binding commitment on any party nor a guarantee that any organization or program will be awarded funding from any federal agency. Once submitted, your request may be made publicly available. For-profit entities are ineligible to apply. Priority will be given to projects with demonstrated ability to be completed during the 5-year reauthorization window.

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21st

COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING REQUESTS

The House Appropriations Committee has outlined requirements for the new Community Project Funding request process to facilitate transparency, accountability, and ensure strong community support. Each Member is permitted to submit ten projects for consideration. All projects submitted by Congressman McNerney will be thoroughly vetted and publicly disclosed on the Congressman's website.

Only the following entities may apply for Community Project Funding:

  • State, local, and tribal governments

  • Publicly owned entities (e.g. ports, universities, PUDs, etc.)

  • Certain non-profit entities with a quasi-government purpose (e.g. Special Districts)

Note:

  • No funds can be used by For-Profit recipients.

  • Matching funding must be available for each project from the state/local government.

  • Each project is funded only for FY 2022.

  • Congressman McNerney & his family cannot have any financial interests in the proposed project.

  • Congressman McNerney can only submit 10 Community Project Funding requests.

Please read the eligibility criteria and selection guidance carefully before submitting a request. This information, including answers to frequently asked questions, can be found here.

Submission of your request does not create a binding commitment on any party nor a guarantee that any organization or program will be awarded funding from any federal agency. Once submitted, your request may be made publicly available. For-profit entities are ineligible from receiving Community Project Funding, and submissions will be required to include demonstrated community support for the project. The Congressman’s office will be prioritizing projects that have the greatest chance of success of being included in the final appropriations bill.
