Flag Requests

Flag Order Form

If you would like to order a U.S. flag from Congressman McNerney's office, please use this flag order form to calculate the price and shipping costs. You will have the option for printing the completed form for sending to Congressman McNerney's Washingon D.C. office with your check. You will also have the option to request the flags purchased to be flown over the Capitol. There may be a delay if you choose to pay by check.

Flags are available in different sizes and fabrics. You may choose to have your new flag flown over the Capitol for an additional charge. You may also request a specific flying date, but due to weather and varying demand, no dates can be guaranteed.

Flags flown over the Capitol include a certificate, which can be personalized for a particular person, event, or organization. Once a flag selection is made, you can customize the dedication message that appears on the official flag certificate by clicking on the dropdown menu under “Dedication” and selecting “Customized.” This will generate an “Additional Text” box where you can add your personalized message.

Please Note: Your personalized message must be added within the “Additional text” box and not the “Special instructions” box. If the desired text is added within the "Special instructions" box, your personalized message will not be reflected on the official flag certificate.

Care of the Flag

Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. Indoor and parade flags should be dry-cleaned. Damaged flags can be repaired and utilized as long as the overall dimensions are not noticeably altered. American Legion Posts and local governments often have facilities to dispose of unserviceable flags. Store your flag in a clean, well-ventilated area.
