Rep. McNerney to Host Virtual Event on Mental Health
Stockton, CA – September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and to raise awareness and open a dialogue about mental health and suicide prevention, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) will host a virtual event on Tuesday, September 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT to discuss the importance of caring for our mental health.
As Americans have had to adapt to a new way of life over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns about mental health have grown during these uncertain times. Just as most individuals are aware of how physical heath affects the body, people have learned that mental health is just as important, and impacts how we handle stress, communicate with others, and make decisions.
The Congressman will be joined by Gigi R. Crowder, Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Contra Costa and Kimberly Warmsley, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Critical resources will be shared, and the panelists will answer questions from constituents.
