Rep. McNerney Announces Annual ‘Holiday Cards for the Troops’ Program

Oct 18, 2019
Press Release

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) announced the start of his annual “Holiday Cards for Our Troops” program. Every year the Congressman’s district offices collect thousands of cards from the community with personal messages of gratitude for our men and women in uniform. Constituents are once again invited to submit cards to either of the Congressman’s district offices, and they will be delivered to troops at home and overseas during the upcoming holiday season.

“Many dedicated men and women in the armed services spend the holidays far away from their loved ones and the place they call home,” said Congressman McNerney. “Countless service members have told me that the messages of encouragement and support that they receive through this program help to boost morale when they cannot be home with their own families and friends during the holiday season. This program gives people in our community the opportunity to help brighten their day and thank our troops for their service.”

Holiday cards will be sent to troops stationed overseas in packages organized by the Contra Costa Blue Star Moms, East Bay Blue Star Moms, Operation Creekside and the Delta Patriots Blue Star Moms.

To participate in the program, make or purchase a holiday card and write a message of thanks to a service member. Cards must be delivered to Congressman McNerney’s offices in Stockton or Antioch by Friday, November 22, 2019.  Cards should remain unaddressed and inside unsealed envelopes.
