Congressman McNerney Highlights Local Manufactures At Congressional Showcase
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Stockton) highlighted two local manufacturers at a showcase in the Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. The showcase preceded the subcommittee’s hearing, “Our Nation of Builders: Manufacturing in America” and highlighted products that are made in the United States.
“I was proud to bring products from Lodi Iron Works and JM Eagle from Stockton to Washington, D.C. Both companies are great contributors to our local manufacturing sector and help create good-paying local jobs in the Central Valley,” said Congressman McNerney.
Lodi Iron Works (LIW) has offices in Lodi and Galt. Founded in 1946, LIW employs 45 people between the two offices. LIW manufactures raw castings of stainless steel, carbon steel, iron, and meehanite grey that are used in cars, planes, tanks, and other industrial purposes.
JM Eagle, headquartered in Los Angeles, has a manufacturing plant in Stockton. JM Eagle employs 85 people at the Stockton facility and over 1200 throughout North America. The company manufactures plastic pipes for water, wastewater, irrigation, snow melting, plumbing, and many other agricultural and industrial uses.
“These companies deserve to be recognized for their commitment to our workforce and job creation. Highlighting their products will help bring attention to not only these two companies, but other manufacturers creating products here in America. I remain committed to my focus on creating jobs and preventing them from being sent overseas,” said Congressman McNerney.
